Hello,
Following some random settings, I'm stuck...
I have a computer with only one video output. In Windows display settings, I unfortunately activated a second screen (which does not exist) as the main display. As a result, I only see the extended Windows desktop (screen #2). So when I right-click to adjust the display, I can't see the dialog box since it appears on the main screen (which does not exist).
How can I return to a single display setup when I can't access the settings window???
Configuration: Windows XP / Internet Explorer 8.0

Hi
Aside from a system restore in safe mode, I don't see too many solutions...
Restart the PC, tap F8 during startup (before Windows loads), choose from the Advanced Boot Options: Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking.
Then go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore > choose a date prior to the haphazard setting...
Before asking a question: 1° Turn on your brain; your PC doesn't think for you!
2° Google is your friend, the search engine from CCM is too, do a search!

Did you change your computer's screen after installing the system?

P.S. Often create a restore point! It solves quite a few problems.

It doesn't seem to me...
The computer in question is a laptop whose screen is dead. I'm putting it in the living room with a display on my TV (LED) at the native resolution of 1980x1080.
When I'm on my couch, this resolution is a bit small! So I wanted to switch to 1280x720, which would give me a proper character size while keeping the screen format (the image a bit squeezed, flattened in 1280x960).
Do you think I should reinstall Windows?

If the projector or your TV has this resolution > maximum 1980x1080.
You can't change anything about it.
You will have black bars on your screen. Top/Bottom or on the sides!
