Hello,
I would like to know how to connect a mini PC (emachines, running XP) to a Samsung TV via HDMI. I connected the PC to the TV using a VGA cable, but nothing happens (no signal detected). I searched the forums and in the control panel, but I can't find anything...
Is it at least compatible?
Thank you for your help :)
Configuration: Windows XP / Safari 535.7

Hello,
It's normally compatible. Normally, you have a F** key that has a symbol like https://www.micropuces.com/image.php?img=images/20110221110744DSC00019.JPG (in this case, the F8 key here)
Press Fn + the key with this symbol and it should work, otherwise we will proceed differently. -
Hello, here is a more precise response: First, connect the powered-on television to the PC's graphics card (s/video composite vga plus audio) or HDMI
classic method "Vista" "seven"

second method (xp)
Go to control panel; double-click on your graphics card control panel (nvidia or GeForce)
configure multiple displays
select: clone and if the TV is not detected, turn it on and restart the computer
click on the link "my display is not listed"
advanced display detection and if no television is detected, click yes on the message and restart the PC
recover the audio signal: connect the audio cable to the headphone or spdif (depending on) output of your sound card right-click on the volume icon in the Windows notification bar
and choose, playback device select the connected output and click on default
and restart the software to take the modification into account
To switch to all digital (see HDI HDMI)
connect the television to the PC in the window select the type of display: mirror, extended, or only on external screen check: activate presentation settings
Pal, Secam 420p or 1080i?
see step 1 and go to your audio card in the section: change the HD signal or format of the driver select the type of connector you are using and then click on the appropriate signal format (ex: THD1080x2) click apply to see the result and save the settings
for sound choose spdif as default

You need to have the official drivers from the manufacturer for the audio card
official driver for the video card
and you also need the codec pack for XP
and of course keep your XP up to date (Windows Update)
