Hello,
I just got a HP Compaq Mini
and it’s missing some parts, including the internal hard drive.
I have a small issue: I don’t know which internal hard drive to buy. Can you help me?
Thank you in advance.

Good evening
You will certainly struggle to get it back in working order if you're missing "some parts" ..
The first thing to do is to identify the exact type of your netbook, as there are many variants in the "hp compaq mini" series.
Then find its detailed technical specifications via Google ..
For the hard drive: it's almost certainly a 2.5" format (to be verified), but the problem is whether it connects via IDE or more likely via SATA (Serial ATA), which you will see from the type of connector on your motherboard. For the capacity in GB, it's practically indifferent for the choice to be made, and the speed is probably either 5400 RPM or 7200 depending on the type ..
Next, to reinstall an OS, you will need to hope that the old hard drive (and the BIOS) was not "tattooed" for a specific OS, the one originally pre-installed. This is quite common with HP and others.
And if it's XP, and if the drive is SATA, you will likely encounter installation issues if you don't have the right drivers, especially if you don't have a CD/DVD drive (which I don't know for this type of laptop).
Good investigation ...
