Hello,
Here is my problem:
I have an ASUS P5KPL-AM EPU motherboard and I get this error message at startup:
please enter setup to recover BIOS setting
USB device over current status detected !!
system will shutdown after 15 seconds
I have tried several times to clear the CMOS, removing the battery, both at the same time, but nothing works
I can't even enter the BIOS
Yet the keyboard works fine, the Caps Lock and Num Lock LEDs turn on and off,
and when I press F8 to choose the boot mode, the writing changes.
Does anyone have an answer for me?
Thanks, it's URGENT!!!
Configuration: Windows 7 / Firefox 8.0

OK,
But there’s nothing plugged into it, I've already tried putting jumpers on USMPW5-8 and still the same message.

It might be a cable and/or USB connector issue??, consider unplugging the ribbons going to the ports, and check the ports that are soldered directly onto the motherboard.

There are no tablecloths connected and no signs or smell of burning on the welds.
