As for me, my training was about work organization and ergonomics, etc.

Very interesting and constructive; it has helped me throughout my professional life.

It’s notably because of this that I was able to access management and director positions in large retail.

Starting from a level of first year without a diploma, I was able to rise to regional director, which, given my starting point, wasn't so bad, I think.

Knowing, however, that training or diplomas are just a "random" indicator if the results on the ground do not follow.

I even refused a position as deputy director at Jeumont-Schneider (300 people to manage) due to geographical issues (and a crazy salary, three times my previous salary).

This is proof that these CNAM trainings are highly valued.

But personality plays a role too, I think.

In fact, in my current company, which practices the "engineer" cult that comes from school paid for by mommy and daddy, I've been made to understand that without an engineering degree, I will be capped; I will only remain a "good technician," as they say. There's no question of accessing management positions... and since this is the direction I want my career to evolve, I don't have many choices.
It's not that I have an excessive ambition... but still!

but as technology progressed at a blistering pace, these in-house engineers fell behind at some point, lacking sufficient technical foundations.

If I take the example of Sagem, initially, they manufactured basic components, but the market led them to diversify in all directions with high-tech products.

Despite that, Sagem remains very vulnerable today to competition that has incredible responsiveness.

To keep up, they need next-generation engineers.

Additionally, the manufacturing costs in France are not very competitive, which poses an additional problem (hence the importance of refining organization and optimizing manufacturing processes).

I think the era of "in-house" engineers is over.

Therefore, CNAM, which relies on updated training, has a role to play for those who "hang on."

And for those who have the ambition not to stagnate in their roles as executors.
