Adopte un mec .com is threatening me

Hello everyone

I signed up for a dating site "adopte un mec" a little while ago and today I received an email threatening to block my IP for not complying with some article, I don't know which one, anyway I didn't understand anything.
Basically, they are asking me to prove my identity by sending a photocopy of my ID card. I find that outrageous, especially since I don't understand what I've done wrong ^^
There’s no way I'm sending my ID card... but do they have the right to ask for it and am I really at risk if I don't comply?

Hello,

Either it is indeed Adopte un mec contacting you:
-following a complaint from someone for identity theft
-due to doubts about your profile

-Or it could be a fake person trying to collect personal information.

At worst, even if it is really Adopte un mec, they can only block your access to the site. And I don’t have their terms in front of me, but it’s possible that there is a clause that requires you to use your photos and to prove your identity in case of doubt.

  I was surprised at first and worried because I'm not used to putting myself in problematic situations ;) it's easy to worry me
  I signed up on this site and all of a sudden, I'm being threatened with having my IP address blocked in 7 days because I am not complying with article 2, anyway, I still don't understand anything.
  
  Being naturally cautious, I don't plan to send my ID card or a photo of myself with my name on it as requested just in case the first solution would bother us.. I still find it suspicious anyway.
  
  But I just hope that I won't have any problems by not complying with their request.

Could I know how it finally ended?
Do you no longer have access to Adopte? Or not at all to the internet?

  There are hundreds of them experiencing the worst problems with dating sites or similar! Meetic, Badoo (the worst), Cums, etc...

This practice is very common, especially on dating sites.
Members who do this are often rewarded with a 'verified profile' logo.

It helps to ensure that the girls are real girls and not just scammers...

The risk involved is hard to estimate; checking WOT and WHOIS can help.

Here we apparently have a safe site, so I don't think there are significant risks...

  Yes, for sure, it's certain that checks need to be made, but the thing is I was just surprised. Since I don't know much about it, the IP address thing panicked me, but since it seems that they just blocked my access to their site, I won't make a big deal out of it.
  
  Anyway, if they really want to verify, they'll see that I'm of age and that it's really me.

  So you didn't have any problems? Aside from blocking access to this site, right? In that case, it’s not a big deal at all! But now, I'm a bit stressed at the thought of being blocked from accessing the Internet. (Maybe I just don’t understand anything, which would suit me just fine!)

Wouldn't it be better to ask the site manager directly?
But not in response to the received email, but through the contact form which is precisely meant for that...

Now you understand why they annoy us with their "online contact form."

Why make it simple when we can make it complicated?

It's common, so easy to boot someone off this site; they don't try to understand because as soon as there’s the slightest complaint from a user, they boot them (justified or not).
It's the game; bad players are everywhere.
They know that by booting a few people, hundreds of others will come back. It's one of the most curious and visited dating sites, and they know it, yes!
