Hello,

I have been finding the homepage "http://search.webplayer.tv/" embedded in Firefox for a few days now, and there’s no way to remove it!!!

Could you help me?? Is it a virus?

Hi,

You installed WebTV...
Uninstall it and remove the extension (Menu Tools / Add-ons)
and reset the settings (homepage, search, etc) ==> https://www.malekal.com/desinstaller-un-programme-et-extensions-firefox/

Be more careful in the future....

Keep your software up to date, it's important, use this program: /faq/13362-update-your-pc-against-security-vulnerabilities
Absolutely necessary.

Antivirus programs do not cover everything when it comes to your machine's security (updating software, etc.)
The best protection remains knowing the infections to avoid them and having good habits.
So, you need to educate yourself.

If you use Avast! or AVG - configure it to detect PUPs - see: https://www.malekal.com/adwares-pup-protection/

A bit of reading to avoid infections:
- know and avoid infections: https://www.malekal.com/fichiers/projetantimalwares/ProjetAntiMalware-courte.pdf
- secure your PC: http://forum.malekal.com/how-to-secure-your-computer.html
- If you use Avast! or AVG, remember to enable PUP/LPIs detection: https://www.commentcamarche.net/faq/32913-avast-and-avg-enable-pup-lpi-detection
- read: http://www.commentcamarche.net/faq/27128-malwares-what-are-the-issues-summary

What not to do:
I download anything - I get infected - avoid programs from ads or commercial links from search engines - they are scams::

Thank you. I just followed the entire protocol but nothing has changed. I no longer had any programs to uninstall or extensions. The search engine doesn't appear in the list and yet it keeps coming back.

What extensions do you have installed?
Can you take a screenshot? : https://www.commentcamarche.net/informatique/windows/149-faire-des-captures-d-ecran-avec-windows-10/

Put it here and send me the link afterwards: http://pjjoint.malekal.com

We agree that it's the homepage that redirects to webplayer.tv and that you tried to change it?

Hi,

Do what is said there: https://forums.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich-23396689-http-search-webplayer-tv#1

Remove WebTV from your browser extensions (Firefox: Tools Menu / Add-ons)
And restore your homepage and search engine.

Here is the screenshot for the installed extensions: http://pjjoint.malekal.com/files.php?id=v15m15m7c15r15j5f8f14s115c10l7d6o6v8x7v9n8e9r7

I confirm that it is indeed the homepage that redirects to webplayer.tv and that I tried to remove it

Here is the screenshot of that page: http://pjjoint.malekal.com/files.php?id=e8d10r8g12i6m7y9f14s6c8n11f12d14p13k12z12z15i6f55

In any case, thank you for your help, usually I can manage but this time I'm quite troubled..
