How to avoid receiving spam messages?

Hello,

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 and since yesterday I keep receiving blank SMS.
What can I do to stop these empty messages?
Configuration: Windows XP / Safari 535.1

I checked the SMS settings, but I didn't find a solution.
Everything else on the phone is working normally,
apparently it's an Android issue.
All it takes is for someone to send me a blank SMS and it doesn't stop!!!

No, it's an empty message from a contact in my directory, and it's the same message that keeps repeating all the time; I've received almost 50 messages since last night.

It seems that I have to reset the phone and that way I will lose all the apps, photos, messages, or anything else I have added.
