Hello, while searching on Google for software to read mini DVDs, I came across your message (from July 2006).
If you have managed to solve this problem since then, I kindly ask and hope that you will help me resolve it.
Thank you for your response.

Hello,
I need help and advice.
I just bought a Sony DVD 105 video camera on clearance because it's a discontinued model.
In the box, I only have the Nero Express 6 CD, no other software. Should there have been others?
I filmed with the camera, finalized the mini DVD, and put it on my computer. Everything's fine so far, I can see my videos, but if I copy the videos to my computer, I can no longer open them.
Do I need a specific software just to be able to open them because the videos are in RM and TS format?
Thank you for your advice.
I’ve searched everywhere on the internet and I can’t find anything, I’m starting to get desperate.

Hello, you were still lucky to have Nero in the package; I didn't have anything at all. For your problem: make sure to format your mini DVDs in video format, it's very important. After that, copy them to your PC to watch.
What I do is convert them to DivX with FairUse Wizard 2. And then I can do whatever I want with them. In fact, I finished all the edits of my movies yesterday and the result is perfect. If you need more information, no problem, good luck Chtroumfette.

Hi,
I had this problem today with a Handycam 105E
You finalize the DVD-RW with the cam
DVD in the DVD player of the PC
Then, you download Neodivx
https://www.clubic.com/telecharger-fiche10940-neodivx.html
You run the program... click on encoding
Then you look for your IFO file of your DVD RW, the largest between 30 KB and 500 KB
You run the app
If you can't use the resulting AVI file, you will use VirtualDub and open this AVI file and save it again as AVI... then it will be usable by all editing software.
VirtualDub will also allow you to save clips of the movie that you want to keep as AVI... sequences rather than the whole movie
I use Vegas and that's how I did it
So it works perfectly!

If you bought something other than Sony, Canon, and Toshiba, for example, you wouldn't have any more problems... oh yes!
Good evening,
I was about to say something that you've already been answered to (I should have read the previous posts, but since we can't delete...)
So: nothing, sorry!

I think you have the same problem as me, your camcorder is not compatible with Media Player. Download LVC and it should work.
I have the Sony Handycam 92e. No playback issues on my PC except since I started using the Sony DOUBLE sided DVD-RWs.
even if the DVD is not finalized, it is possible to access the content with Nero Decode.
this software also allows you to copy the files to the hard drive
afterwards you can do whatever you want with them
you can read the vob files with vlc for example

Hi. I think you can only read it on a standard DVD player. I have the same camcorder as you and it works very well this way. Good luck!!
Hello, I have the same camera... first of all, you need to finalize and place the disc in your computer's drive... XP! I read them with VLC and I've never had any problems... and when your disc is copied to your computer and you're sure you can make a DVD from it, only then!!! You need to format with your camera, it's safer; otherwise, you risk losing some codecs and I think that's your problem.++++++++++++rudy
Hi everyone, the solution is to finalize the CD in the camera, go to the camera menu and you will find it. After that, put your CD in the PC and it will work 100/100.
Like a movie CD.

I'm sorry, but I also have the same problem as everyone else, but I'm extremely basic in terms of computer skills, so I don't understand at all what is meant by, for example, "can you make an acquisition via your firewire port."
I have a DCR DVD106 mini DVD camcorder. I recorded on 8 cm TDK DVD-RW. Whether finalized or not (I've tried both), neither my Thomson DVD player nor my ACER Aspire T160 computer can read the mini DVDs.
My DVD player rejects them right away, and my computer "thinks" indefinitely. Nothing happens.
I tried connecting the camera to the computer with the USB cable. On my camcorder, "computer" appears, I press it. It says "preparing, please do not turn off the device," and it stays like that indefinitely as well. Nothing happens.
With the camera, I had the Picture Motion Browser software provided, but my computer's drive does not detect it at all, so I can't install it.
I wanted to install K-Lite, but I already have DIVx which apparently has the same functions. I updated Windows Media Player.
So if you can help me with simple words, I would be extremely grateful, because I'm at my wit's end...
