OpenOffice disappearance of comments

Hello,
My issue is as follows. As soon as I close my document in OpenOffice, the comments I made on the footnotes disappear. The comments on the main text remain, but not those on a footnote.
Do you know how to recover the comments that have been lost?

    Do you save your documents in Microsoft Office format or OpenDocument format?

      Hello,
      I save in Microsoft Office format (I don't choose odt)... But what happens is that when I reopen my document, not only have those comments disappeared in Microsoft Office, but especially in OpenOffice itself!

      Indeed, if I save it in odt format, the comments remain... Is there a way to recover these precious comments?
