Bonjour,
j'ai le jeu de Harry potter 2 sur ordinateur window XP , j'ai le vrai jeu , le code tout ça ...quand j'ai fini de l'installer, je clique sur le jeu et un message d'erreur apararait, il y a ecrit :
Generake protection fault !
history: appInit
pourriez vous m'aider s'il vous plait ? merci !

Had the same issue. Filled out an email tech support form and received a canned response back. One of the canned responses was for this issue and following the steps (deleting hp.ini) worked for me...
"General Protection Fault History:AppInit"
After ensuring the items above, deleting the games configuration file so that a new one can be written may be necessary. Follow the steps below to do so:
To delete this configuration file:
1. Click on the Windows Start button, then click on either Find or Search.
2. Click on the Files and Folders selection.
3. In the Named field enter hp.ini. Choose the hard drive that the game was installed to in the Look In field. Usually this is the C: drive.
4. Click Find Now or Search and give the utility a moment to find the file.
5. Once the file is located delete it from the listing in this window. Left-click on the file to highlight it then either right click the file and choose Delete or press the Delete key on your keyboard.
6. Click Yes when prompted then close this window.
