Hello,
I would like to shade the area under a curve in Excel. The help offered on Google is not helpful, and the predefined functions do not suit my needs.
Does anyone have a simple idea?
Thank you!
Configuration: Windows XP / Internet Explorer 6.0

By setting the Ox axis in chronological order, the scale becomes proportional.
A simple "Area" type graph may meet the need. Step by step:
Select the values in a column --> simple "Area" graph (the one in the top left)
Graph --> source data --> "series" tab, enter "axis labels" with the desired field.
Graph --> Chart options --> "Axes" tab, check chronological.
Select the Ox axis --> axis format --> "Number" tab, choose the Standard category.
You can then refine the presentation through the "format" of various elements.

I used Excel 2003, the type of chart is a classic scatter plot.
Sorry for the lack of information =]

If the request is simple, the solution is not obvious.
If the data allows it, we can overlay an "area" chart with the X-axis in "chronological" and a scatter plot. Example:

Come back to let us know if that suits you and your difficulties.

That's exactly what I want!
I just have a problem: if I have, for example, on the x-axis (3, 7, 12), there will be a graphic unit between 3 and 7, and between 7 and 12. It's not proportional.
I don't know if I'm being clear, but in any case, I can't adjust the scale.
Thank you for your response!

There are dozens of colors, textures, and images...
... but unfortunately for you, no hatching!
In post #4, at 12:29, you exclaim "that's exactly what I want!" when it's not hatching that tontong suggested to you...
Look for the mistake!

Hatching or filling, it doesn't matter! Please forgive this imprecision...
In any case, tontong's proposal suited me perfectly!
I can't seem to solve this scale problem, oh well, I’ll manage another way.
Thank you for your help and have a great day!
