Hello, I have a big problem with my wireless keyboard. I’ve had it for 3 years, I had to replace the batteries 15 days ago and since then I have to replace them again every 3 days!!
What happened to my keyboard to consume so many batteries ??
Do you have a solution, to repair, or should I replace it ??

Thank you in advance for your help.

    'Evening!

Go back to a good old keyboard with batteries!
Or, use a battery charger but seriously consider having plenty of them on hand!!!

    alut Fandango,

No I think you didn't understand, maybe I didn't express myself well, but it's definitely normal AA alkaline batteries that I use, and not rechargeable batteries.

The first ones lasted 3 years.

    Hello,

If you haven’t done so already, try with batteries from another brand, or bought elsewhere. You might have just hit a bad batch. It would still be pretty surprising.

If that doesn't work, here’s what you can do:

You keep changing your batteries every 3 days. Do the math on what it will cost you after a year.
As Fandango says, you buy a charger and 2 sets of batteries. How much does that cost?
In either case you don’t know if everything will fail tomorrow, in 8 days, or in a month.

You take your keyboard to a repair shop. You’ll pay at least 30 €.
You buy a new keyboard. For example, a spring cleaning sale right now at cdiscount: https://www.cdiscount.com/; it starts at 16,92€ + shipping, with the mouse included.

Up to you to choose, and if you want to spend nothing, you can take back your wired keyboard!

    Bye.

Yes, I definitely changed the brand of batteries, obviously, I tried the 3 most well-known brands, and I bought a battery tester to make sure I didn’t keep hitting a bad batch, but no, the batteries are excellent at first and last ...... 3 days.
Changing the batteries every 3 days at 3 euros would put us around 365 euros per year, wow expensive keyboard, the charger, it’s nice and all but I’m sure the batteries last even less time, so we’d have to recharge constantly, not fun either.
What’s unfortunate is that my keyboard is a very good one that I got with the computer, so I don’t have a wired one, I got this one that goes with the Logitech MX 700 mouse and I don’t want to buy a keyboard for 16 euros, I’d rather pay more for quality (you only have to see it lol).
I wish someone would tell me “it’s probably a bad contact, a ground, do this or that, and it will work normally again”
But well, it’s not a big deal, if there’s no solution, I’ll buy another one.
Thank you for your attempts to help, have a nice day.

Call Logitech technical support. I don't know if yours is guaranteed for 3 years. I have a cordless desktop LX 501 with a 3-year guarantee; initially I had a problem with the keyboard that was replaced free of charge and quickly.

If I told you it's probably a leaking capacitor, if you opened your keyboard to access the inside, it wouldn't tell you much more. How would you go about finding which one and then replacing it?

If I detailed all these solutions to you, it was to lead you to the conclusion that you found!
