Hello everyone,
Unlike what I've seen on the forum, I would like to know if there is a way to connect a wireless USB keyboard to a PS/2 port.
My question may seem strange, but I just acquired a KVM switch to connect 2 PCs, and it doesn't have a USB port.
Thank you in advance for your responses

Thank you all for your quick response and especially to BLUX for the address of a seller.
By adding a PS/2 M/F extender, it should work.
Have a nice day. -
it's not easy (from my experience) to find USB/PS2 adapters for keyboards...
however, for mice it's easy to find (it's usually included with USB mice), by the way, it's strange that they didn't provide it with your keyboard...
but normally the adapter for mice works for keyboards!!!! -
Hi,
there are USB/PS2 adapters...

Hello
You need to be very careful; some USB keyboards (like mice, by the way) come with a passive adapter (which means that only the wire connections are adapted), which also means that a keyboard or mouse that doesn't take into account the possibility of being connected via USB or PS2 with an adapter won't work on a PC or a PS2 switch if they are exclusively USB... there you go
Have a good day-
Hello, there is also the problem with the software: for example, the new versions of ipoint (Microsoft) no longer seem to support all the functions of the mouse, such as scrolling left and right for instance, specifically if the mouse is connected via PS/2; compatible or not. (You need 2 versions and 2 installations of "ipoint"; 1 keyboard and 1 M$ mouse; if sold separately with a dongle for each; and it's not compatible even though the keyboard dongle can manage a mouse = no hardware pairing settings).

To be clearer: keyboards or mice must be compatible with USB and PS2. Between 1995 and about 2005, manufacturers adapted keyboards and mice to connect to all PCs, whether USB or PS2. That’s why some will say it works with an adapter and others won’t, especially if their keyboard is recent. Be sure to ask about compatibility with both modes before your purchase. ... Of course, what applies in one direction also applies in the other: "USB to PS2 or PS2 to USB"
By the way, thanks to the great site "how it works," for allowing answers without a long registration, at least intelligently here.... Well done.

Hello Dom77,
I want to install a KVM switch but in the opposite direction from yours, meaning to have 2 consoles on one PC. And I have the same issue as you.
So I would like to know if it worked to connect wireless devices to a KVM switch, and USB wireless devices with a PS2 adapter?
Thanks in advance.
