Hello, it’s not necessarily real; you need to focus on different points to see if the controller is original:

- firstly the lights on top (for the player number) are less bright and also less red (compare with a controller you are sure is official
- then you need to look at the finishes, the molding. For this, look at the gaps between the front and back parts (especially where the charging port is)
- after that, move into the shadow and press the PS button. If you see light coming out of all the holes and also through the plastic transparency, then it’s fake.
- to know if it’s real, look at the square button; Normally it is quite pink whereas on fake ones it leans towards violet-pink (compare with a real one you’re sure of)

To know if it’s fake you can also open it; if the battery is detachable that’s good, if it’s fixed, it’s fake.

There you go, you shouldn’t rely only on the serial number, it’s so easy for traffickers to copy.

Oh, one last thing, my last controller I bought has no “reset” button on the back. It has the hole but it’s empty, you can see the circuits.
