unreadable jpeg files after transfer Solved

Question

Hello,
I just transferred my photos and videos from my SD card to my computer by cutting and pasting them into a folder, and less than half of the files are readable.
In Windows image preview, no preview is available, and with Photoshop it says "unknown or invalid jpeg marker type is found."
This has happened to me before, but I'm really stuck this time.
Does anyone have a solution to repair these files?

Hello  I have exactly the same problem as fpoc: no extension, no preview and the same message  help help help: these are the pictures of my puppy since his birth, there are 128 of them!!!

I would like to intervene because I have the same problem and I am looking for a solution by going from forum to forum without any results.

To answer the previous question, for me, there is no difference between the photos I can open and those I cannot open. The error message varies depending on the software: "the drawing has failed" ; "the file is not valid or its format is not recognized" ...

To see.
Have you tried transferring them 1 by 1, then 2 by 2… while checking the validity of the files before increasing the amount?

It might be a matter of speed, of transfer quantity (it sounds like incomplete transfers, of data getting lost along the way)?
And what type of reader is the card in?

+ Never delete before checking the quality of the transfer!

Thank you, çyhef. I just learned the hard way that you shouldn't delete anything without checking that it worked properly, but in this case, it was lost anyway since I did a "cut/paste"! I did this from an SD card inserted into a "multi-connect hub" of the computer, as I had always done until now.
Loreen, the unreadable files are JPEG images, was that your question?
What surprises me the most is that the damaged files are the ones that were transferred first, while the photos I can open were transferred last...?

thank you P2, I tested PC inspector; the problem is that it found the photos that were transferred intact in 4 identical copies each... I don't understand much of it! I'm redoing a scan to see.

Yes, I was able to open the photos, but the ones I'm interested in are not there; it can't find them on the card, which is odd, isn't it?

I also have a great need to repair damaged jpeg images. Images that I lost due to a problem with that damn Partition Magic of my ....... I then recovered them with Easy Recovery (the only one that managed to get them back, by the way), but the thing is, it's impossible to view them because the file is damaged.

If anyone knows of a software...

C'est simple, pour récupérer tes photos, il faut que tu connectes ta carte ou clé à ton PC. Télécharge PC Inspector File Recovery et puis PC Inspector, et après tu fais la magie du clic clic avec ta souris. C'est facile à utiliser, il t'explique bien, c'est en 3 étapes. Mais après, il te faudra peut-être un logiciel pour réparer tes données et/ou photos. Pour le logiciel, je n'ai pas encore trouvé, donc si quelqu'un trouve, qu'il me tienne au courant.

I accidentally deleted a folder of my photos while trying to transfer them to an external drive. I went to the Recycle Bin and clicked on Restore, but I can no longer find that folder of photos. I searched using an evocative word to locate them, but I couldn't find them. I used a program to recover deleted photos and found a folder containing 3GB and over 112 files and videos, but when I click on each of the thumbnail photos, which I can't actually see and are in .jpg format, it says No preview available in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer.
