Hi everyone

I have a photo that is 2 MB and I would like to reduce it to 80 KB.
Is it possible, and if so, how?
I admit it's huge; should I reduce its size? It is also of good quality.
What software should I use and how?

Thank you in advance

Here's something that worked well for me:
    • download The Gimp
    • open the photo in Gimp and go to Image then Scale Image
    • reduce the resolution to 72 dpi (generally sufficient for the web)
    • reduce the dimensions of the photo (for a rectangular photo, 700 pixels wide may be enough)
    • choose save as and indicate a new name for the file
    • save in JPEG format and choose a quality of 85% (or 100% or less but maximum quality is recommended)

In my case, a 13 MB photo (at 300 dpi resolution; original size 4797 x 3105) was reduced to 64 KB.

If necessary, make different attempts depending on the size and quality you want to achieve.

    Good luck.

      Hello,

thanks to horomaniac for his tip to reduce the size of photos. It seems to work great. But is it not possible to reduce all the photos in a file at the same time?

      Thanks in advance,
