My printer only prints in red now.

Question

Hello everyone,   So here it is, I have an HP Deskjet 2100 series printer that for some time now only prints one color: red.  I want to clarify that I only print from word processing. At first, the first two lines appeared in black, which was normal, and then it degraded to red on a few lines before turning completely red and staying that way.  I tried fiddling with the options, doing a cartridge cleaning, I even changed the black cartridge, aligned it but nothing works...   I have big projects to print urgently and now I’m stuck.   Does anyone have a solution?  Thanks in advance.

Well, I can't swap the cartridges, they're each made for their slot, so I removed the color cartridge to print a text in black and it doesn't print anything... I tried with red just in case, but still nothing, and when I put the color cartridge back, the black stays red and the red is printed in light red...

Hi, A useless option but you'll see right away if it's your printer that's acting up. Swap your cartridges or remove the one with colors.

It's stupid to put -1 everywhere; the rating system was put in place to easily identify the best answers. I didn't say that someone who wrote in the discussion put the -1s, but it's completely idiotic to do that.  Have a good evening.

Don't worry, I haven't opened the printer, just tried swapping the cartridges and removing the color one to see if it would print in black, but nothing....  So now I don't know, it has decided to print in red everywhere and that's it, it refuses to print in black...

Good evening, Have you tried changing your color cartridge, or when printing try checking "grayscale" in the color tab to use only your black cartridge? --  ** 90% of issues are between the chair and the keyboard!!! ** If the problem is resolved, please change the status to resolved (using the icons at the top of the message).

My printer only prints in red now.
