image display issues in Word Solved

Question

Hello everyone,
I have a problem, when I insert an image into the Word processor (from the Works package), the images are inserted correctly but I cannot see them.
It’s enough for me to press, for example, the enter key, and the image appears, but when I use the scroll wheel of my mouse to get a better look at the image, it disappears, which is quite annoying.
When I do a print preview, all the images are visible.

I was told that I should install the new drivers for my video card.
My video card is:
ATI MOBILITY RADEON X600
The installed drivers are: ati2dvag (6.14.10.6505 - ATI Catalyst 5.1)
size: 256MB

Please let me know what I should do

I had this display problem following an automatic update of my workstation that, I suppose, must have changed some default settings (because overnight, the images were no longer appearing). I solved the issue thanks to you. A big thank you. You need to go to "Word Options" / Advanced Options / section Show document content and uncheck "Show spaces for images".

Hello,
I have the same problem with Word Office 2003. I have the same machine as Crosser. Reinstalling doesn't help.

I have inserted bmp or jpg images. Strangely, the "Edit Picture" option in the right-click menu on an image is greyed out.

When I open a document with an image, it displays. Then, if I scroll, the part of the image that "goes out" of the screen is not refreshed when I scroll to bring it back on screen.
This also happens when I switch to another application and come back to Word; the images are not displayed.
Reading mode and print preview display the images correctly.

In short, there is definitely a problem and I can't find a solution. I am open to any suggestions.

Hi everyone,
I also had this problem until I looked in the Word options and finally found it!
Options/Display/Show, uncheck the box "Spaces for images"
I’m not quite sure what this changes but the images appear without any problem.

Hello,  In Word 2007, you need to go to "Word Options" -> the "Advanced" tab -> the "Show document content" section -> uncheck "Show space for images."

In Microsoft Office 2010, you need to go to File --> Options --> Advanced Options --> Show spaces under image (it's under the "Show document content" tab).

I also have this problem with Word 2010. The "space for images" box is unchecked but there’s no image display; just after a double click, the image placeholder appears but nothing else.

Help! I’m going through the forums and everyone only suggests the solution of unchecking the "space" box, but for me, it doesn’t work.
