Filezilla "critical transfer error"

Hello everyone,

I've been searching the internet for over an hour for a possible solution to the infamous "critical error" of transfer!!!! I'll try to be as brief and clear as possible.

I followed the advice of a very well-explained tutorial: http://www.tutoriels-animes.com/configurer-utiliser-envoyer-fichiers-filezilla.html



My ISP (Internet Service Provider) being Club-internet, I noted:
- in Host: ftp.clubinternet.fr
- in port: 21
- and in this tutorial it is advised to choose in authentication type: password prompt (and not normal)



Then I connect and it works (Status: Directory content reading completed)... for a while (--> false hope!!) :S (let me explain:)




PROBLEM N°1:
After not even 5 minutes, it displays in the connection status bar:

Response: 421 Timeout - try typing a little faster next time
Error: Connection closed by server

In the tutorial they say this can happen and that for this, you have to click on the " R " icon (except for me, it's greyed out --> I can't click on it! "Unclickable!!" :S )
I have to reconnect every 2 minutes. -_-"




PROBLEM N°2 :

At the moment I want to transfer a file ---> critical error!!
I tried changing the file name (which had an accent) --> no success
I removed the spaces in the name of my file --> no success

I'm not at all a computer expert, but I'm not totally stupid (despite my outer blondness...) so if someone knows the solution and could explain it to me in clear language in the style of "correctly installing FileZilla for dummies," that would be SUPER NICE!!!! =)
( Also, I've visited quite a few tutorials, so please don't send me a "fake" link that wouldn't help my case!)



Hoping a superhero (or superheroine) will respond to my S.O.S.

Same here,
I reinstalled Filezilla in version 2.2.32, then I entered what was needed in the site manager.
The connection is established.

Status: Connected
Status: Retrieving directory listing...
Command: PWD
Response: 257 "/" is current directory.
Status: Directory listing successful

So far, so good.

When I try to transfer my HTML file, it asks me if I'm okay with overwriting the one currently on the server.
So, since I agree, I click OK.

It starts processing and bam, Critical transfer error and nothing happens...

In the 2 years I've been managing updates for an association website, this is the first time this has happened to me and it's starting to get on my nerves.

So it happened to me too, especially with .css and .html files.
What I did (and it worked for me) was to rename the files before transferring them.
For example, my file "styles.css" wouldn't transfer; I renamed it "caca.css," transferred it, and there it was, no problem, the transfer was perfect; I just have to rename the file correctly, "styles.css," once it's properly on the hosting space.
