Audio headset jack contact issue

Hello,
Well, it's been a year and a few months since I bought a Sennheiser HD 228 headset at Fnac and there's already a loose connection at the jack, it happened overnight and now I can hardly hear the sound and the quality is lower.
The loose connection is at this point: http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=554347Prisejack.jpg
I also realized that it costs almost half as much elsewhere and that the warranty is only valid for a year.
So instead of throwing the headset away, I wanted to know if I could fix it myself preferably since it costs less, or if I need to take it to someone to have it repaired or if I should just buy a new cable.
Thanks a lot in advance for your answers =D
PS: I'm sending you an image of the other end of the cable ^^ : http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=896270Photo0246.jpg

Configuration: / Mozilla Indeterminate

Hello

if the cable is damaged very close to the jack, the best thing to do is to buy a 3.5mm stereo mini-jack, cut the wire to about 2 cm, and resolder it onto the new plug.

here's an example of a 3.5mm stereo mini-jack:
