black screen + video cable control message

Question

Good evening everyone
On a PowerPoint PC, when powered on, all the indicators are green, meaning it's powered. Windows XP doesn't start, the screen is black, and a message in a blue box displays: check video cable
and it stops there
Does anyone have a solution to propose?

me too, my screen indicates video cable control
yet I see on the screen that it's charging and suddenly a black screen appears telling me that the video cable is not connected and it restarts and tells me again that the video cable is not connected. I changed the cable but nothing works. Moreover, I don't know anything about computers.

hello
this is a message from your instructor asking you to check if the cable is properly connected.
-is your cable properly connected?
-is your tower making a strange/special noise? multiple beeps..etc..?
-does the pc seem to start? (if you leave the speakers on, can you hear the "windows starting" sound...etc...?)
-have you tried with another graphics card?

first of all, it’s either the cable has a problem or your graphics card.

Hi Ka'sa  Sorry for the delay, but a storm cut off our ADSL for over 15 days. The technician diagnosed a faulty motherboard. Let's hope that's it.  Thanks

I don't think it's the motherboard that's faulty, well maybe it's already too late...

It happens to me a few times on my PC as well, and I just have to "press F8 a bunch of times" right at the beginning of the PC startup, and choose "Start with the last known good configuration."

With that, Windows works perfectly again. In my opinion, it's that it makes an error when saving the settings when Windows shuts down.

Moi aussi, mon écran affiche "contrôle câble vidéo" et l'ordi ne démarre qu'une fois sur cinq malgré le changement de la carte graphique et de la barrette mémoire. J'ai essayé avec une autre carte mère, ça n'a rien donné. Est-ce que cela peut provenir du processeur ?
