How to jitter packets on a RJ45?

Hello, for my thesis I need to jam a signal on an oscilloscope. I’m sending 32k Byte ping packets over the local network with software. I can see them pass on the oscilloscope and I need to manage to jam this signal by any means within logical limits. :)

Do you know a way with software or hardware tools to jam a signal that passes between two PCs via an RJ45 cable?

      lol I thought about it, but in my opinion neither the school nor I are going to fork out a bunch of cash for that :p... :)

      No money needed! A bit of cable and a car battery (or a few batteries).

      You wrap the cable as tight as possible around your RJ45 cable and you apply the power. In my opinion, not many disturbances are needed to break the signal.

      Otherwise, the ultimate jamming: a swing of the axe into the cable.

      Stupid question: can you plug in a device, or ideally should you be playing the hacker?
