Which software to edit .pdf? Solved/Closed

Question

Hello esteemed experts! I receive downloadable files in .pdf that I open with Adobe Reader. But how can I modify or complete the content of these files? Do I need to use the PRO version of Adobe Reader? Is there a cheaper software or even freeware available?

Check out PDF Creator and Foxit PDF editor, they are sufficient to modify or create PDFs.

He is right, the PDF format is not meant to be edited. In many cases, it's not even technically feasible.

I agree with sebsauvage that a PDF is meant for publication, distribution, archiving, and printing, but technically you can edit a PDF. "Solid
Converter PDF" is a paid software (but evaluable for 30 days) that allows you to convert your PDF to .doc, and indeed Adobe Acrobat Standard allows you to edit your PDF file by converting it to .doc (just like Solid Converter).

I found the free software INKSCAPE.  It allows you to edit one page at a time, but the advantage is that it's free...

I just discovered Pdfimport, an extension that allows you to import PDFs into openOffice.org 3: it’s awesome!

Indeed, it looks pretty good. To be tested.
I still wonder how it handles styles, margins, etc.
Given that the PDF document was created with somewhat original options and by LaTeX (for example), I doubt that after recompilation we would get the same PDF document.

It works, it works even incredibly well, it's astounding in its simplicity!
It's a shame we can't insert an image field containing our signature to "electronically" sign the documents once completed!

Adobe Professional allows you to edit and save PDF files, but it costs around $100.
A simple and inexpensive way is to convert your PDF files into a Word document or another word processing document so that you can edit it; you can try converting it using a small program called PDF to Word Converter.

Conclusion:
For most converted files, the content (images, text, etc.) is good. However, you will likely find that some of the text will come out in different sizes once the conversion is complete.

And for converting Word files to PDF, there are also many free tools: Free PDF Converter.
