Hello everyone,
I'm writing this message because on Monday I'm taking the AFPA tests to enter the training for higher technician in automation and industrial computer science. This training means a lot to me, so I would like to know what these tests consist of.
Thank you for your future responses.

Hello, I just passed the AFPA admission tests and I succeeded. But like you, I was completely undecided about what these tests would have in store for me. I tried to gather information from some forums but to no avail, not finding any details that would give me a concrete idea of the subjects I would be asked. Anyway, I'm here to share my experience so that you have an idea of what to revise at least for these level 3 AFPA tests.
Training project: Higher technician in automation and industrial computing (diploma classified bac+2 lvl. 3)
Logic test (eliminatory): 75 questions, minimum 45 correct answers
- Arithmetic sequence
- Sequence of figures
- Length finding using line projections
- Statement + reasoning question (tap + water flow or bulb + open/closed switches.. etc)
For level 3, I encountered the same sequence of exercises 3 or 4 times, and each stage varies in difficulty, so you really have to stay focused and take your time; they give you 3 hours. (I completed it in 3 hours with a tally of 55 correct answers). Then the psychologist will call you to tell you whether you are still in the running or not and will give you another appointment to take the remaining tests.
Math test (non-eliminatory): 25 questions in 1 hour in the form of MCQ (calculator allowed)
- Study of functions
- Matrix
- Derivatives
- Limits
- Factorizing or expanding fractions example: (x²+1)/(x+1)
- knowing how to simplify an operation like (a³-b²+c)(a+b³-c²)
- notable identities
- sine cosine
This test really surprised me because I had received from the psychologist the list of what would be on the exam (nice of her) but it was missing matrices, sin/cos, limits, derivatives... anyway, I managed to score 16/25. All I wish for you is that a candidate before you accidentally pointed out the right answer with a pencil, which happened to me on 4-5 questions.
Electricity test: 22 questions in 1 hour in the form of MCQ (calculator allowed)
- Calculation of current, voltage, power (p=u*i; p=r*i²......)
- knowing what mega, nano, micro (10^6,10^-3.....)
- calculating resistance, voltage in parallel or series (1/r=1/r1+1/r2.....)
- the unit of capacitance
- f=1/t (frequency)
- E=U-RI
I also succeeded in this one with a score of 19/22.
French test: 12 statements in total in 1 hour
Statement of 3-4 sentences, a series of statements will be proposed (6) where you will need to find the 2 correct ones.
I got 2/12 so I won't dwell on that :)
In the end, I passed my tests and the psychologist assigned me to a training center. Following the results, the psychologist calculates the percentage of success you will have during the training.
Conclusion: Don’t take these tests lightly as is often said on the forums (I'm speaking for level 3) I didn't find this easy at all, at least for me the hardest part is done!
Best regards

thank you for your message, it helps me a bit. Actually, tomorrow I will be taking a test for a level IV accounting training (Afpa), and I would really appreciate it if you could send me any questions you remember, if you have a little time. You would be saving my life, as this training represents a dream for me.
Thank you in advance.
