Very long startup of the Mac

Solved

Hello,

I have had a MacBook since Christmas 2010. Super worked for 6 weeks.
And now the MB takes 20 minutes to start up. 3 minutes to boot to display the login window, and the rest of the time I'm waiting to select the username and enter the password. Sometimes I have to force shut down the MB which gets stuck in sleep mode. It feels like I'm using Windows.

Current version: Mac OS 10.6.6 (Originally 10.6.3)
I don't have any disk space issues. ONYX doesn’t find any errors. No programs are loaded at startup.
I've installed OpenOffice, MAMP, JOOMLA, nothing more.
The OS update was due to an unfortunate click.

The literature on various forums suggests reinstalling the original system. I find that ridiculous and besides, I don't want to redo my entire setup (user, web, mail, ...)

Thank you for helping me regain the joy of taking the plunge.

I'm counting on you (especially my wife)

Configuration: Mac OS X / Safari 533.19.4

OK, the problem is solved. I went to an Apple Store this afternoon.
They reset the PRAM by using the key combination cmd+alt+P+R at startup.
I was worried at first because they suspected a hardware issue.
Anyway, all's well that ends well.

Thanks for the tips that helped with my investigations.
