[symantec] uninstallation issues

I had the same problem as you. The uninstall password is not the default one ("Symantec").
In the end, I bypassed the issue by modifying a registry key.
Thus, Norton uninstalls without asking for a password.

Here’s the procedure:
1) Launch the registry (Start > Run > type "regedit")
2) Go to the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\INTEL\LANDesk\VirusProtect6\CurrentVersion\Administrator Only\Security\
3) Modify the value: UseVPUninstallPassword by entering "0" (instead of "1")
4) Close the registry and uninstall Norton again

@ManuIf, like me, you don't have this field in the registry (which is the case with version 11.xx of Norton/Symantec), there is this solution:

1\ Launch the uninstallation (you need admin rights, of course).
2\ When the password is requested: launch the task manager via "Start Menu", "Run", "TaskMgr.exe"
3\ End the process "MSIEXEC.exe".
The window asking for the password disappears and the uninstallation continues without a hitch.

Info found on an English site, it works, I've tested it for you. It's easy, it's clean, and it's effective.

"When the password prompt appears, run 'Task Manager' and 'End Process' called 'MSIEXEC.exe' that runs under your user account (not SYSTEM). The password prompt goes away and uninstall continues!!"

To be more precise about my uninstallation issue, when I attempt to uninstall Symantec antivirus, a password is requested that I do not know!!!

The person who sold me the laptop does not know it either.

I encountered this problem, Symantec automatically creates a password during uninstallation and suggests it:
type symantec or SYMANTEC (try in lowercase and uppercase)
