    Hello,
right-click on "Computer" in the left menu "Device Manager..."
in there find "Network Adapters" (in your case there are two) right-click on the wireless one, disable it.
    that’s all!

      Good evening,
nothing appears to me in "network adapter" and following these steps the network adapter is not detected
my PC is an HP Windows 7 Intel Core i5
the Wi-Fi button located above the keyboard is orange (the orange light means that Wi-Fi is disabled) pressing it does nothing
      thank you
      for wanting to help me

    Hello,

I’m reopening an old post: the CMP solution works very well, however I would like to understand why the ctrl + f2 command no longer works on my wifi (it works for bluetooth, though).
Also, even though I can now turn off the wifi, this solution is not very convenient. Does anyone have any ideas?

Yes, but..... this applies to Windows.... how to do it when using Ubuntu? Because I think that enabling this card causes problems. Can we disable this function at startup by pressing F2?
Who would have a solution? Thank you in advance.

To disable Wi-Fi on a Windows 8.1, follow these steps:

      1. Click on the Network icon in the system tray (bottom right corner).
      2. Click on Network settings.
      3. Select Change adapter settings.
      4. Right-click on your Wi-Fi connection and select Disable.
