Good evening
message from 10.02.2011 on my answering machine
"This is Mr. Deltour, I assure you I have nothing to sell you, I am currently handling a file that concerns you and to unlock it I absolutely need to get in touch with you, could you please call me back at ........ " it sounds quite like a recorded message, I haven't called because I think it's a well-oiled scam.
Has anyone received a similar message before? Thank you.

Good evening,
First of all, if the number starts with 08 97 or 08 99, definitely don't call back! These are premium rate numbers that call, and people think it's someone they know and end up calling back.
Indeed, it smells like a scam, but can you just provide the first 5 or 6 digits of the number? It could really help me.
Thank you,
Gabriel.

Hello..
It smells strong either:
1- The more or less amicable recovery if not being friendly.. Have you taken out loans in the past?
2- An initial attempt at a scam or at least the introduction to a dubious 'business'..
Let them call back and definitely don't give any info.. Just stick to grunts and incomprehensible sounds.. Or push the issue: 'Stop beating around the bush, what is it about, I don't have much time ..'
Come back to the forum for the rest of this thrilling 'adventure' when you know more.. Caution without paranoia!..
PS: Deltour is a war name, in other words an anonymous pseudonym..

Good evening
Beginning of number 035631.... 03 being the area code for northern France, I believe, a search based on the number yielded nothing. Generally, when it comes to a company that has a physical presence, I think the interlocutor mentions its name. On the other hand, I do not see which case it could be because at no time did he mention my name.
To be continued and thank you for your responses!

You might want to report it to the prefecture...

Ok, good thing you didn't recall or communicate any information! That's the right thing to do, even though sometimes it feels a bit paranoid...

I just received the same message today: "I am Mr. Deltour, I assure you I have nothing to sell you, I am currently managing a case that concerns you and in order to unblock it I absolutely need to get in touch with you, could you please call me back at ........
SCAM...!
SCAM...!
It's a scam !!!!
I received this message twice at the beginning ... but it cut off before saying the phone number !!
I have principles:
1- if someone calls me, it has to be a real person and not a voicemail ... otherwise, I hang up immediately.
2- why is a machine calling me asking me to call back? see principle 1 ..
3- how did I win a Porsche 911 and a month of vacation in the Maldives? very well, thank you, you have my phone number, therefore my name and my address, so send the Porsche and the tickets .. what do you mean I have to subscribe to a subscription first? tut tut tut ....
summary: you don't win if you don't play.
same for texts like "hello, I’m Melinda, I’m alone in the area, I want you, call me or go to: grospigeons.com .. to contact me ...
well, she has my number, why do I have to go through a dating site? ...
there you go ... the basics to avoid being taken in.

why do something simple when you can do it complicated?
