Hello,
I just bought a Scenic 3 Dynamique with the integrated Tomtom navigation system... the only problem is I can't turn off the GPS navigator without turning off the radio. Also, I find that the Tomtom GPS emits quite strong waves which makes us feel a bit nauseous and sometimes gives us headaches. Has anyone else experienced the same effects? I would like to keep the radio but turn off the GPS so we don’t feel this sensation??
Configuration: Windows XP / Internet Explorer 7.0

I took a trip without the GPS SD card and there was a noticeable improvement in the waves felt. Sure, we didn't have GPS, but we didn't experience headaches. However, as soon as we put the card back in with the radio on, the GPS activated and the strange sensations returned. I saw Renault today and they confirmed that the radio and GPS are not separable. Too bad..

Indeed, the GPS does not emit waves (it receives them), but I conducted a test with an electromagnetic wave detector and when my phone is on with the radio and GPS, the waves increased up to three times more than if everything was off. The phone does indeed have to work much harder to find a signal, and when we are in motion, it works even harder. Since I started turning off my phone in the car, I no longer experience headaches.

I have the same problem, in fact, you can't separate the car radio from the GPS and the reciprocity is the same. However, I found a trick: I disable the voice; you just need to go to the menu, open the preferences, and disable the voice. This way, you are no longer bothered by the voice that constantly cuts off the car radio, and when you want to use the GPS, you can reactivate the voice or leave it off as well.

Hello,
Did you buy it new? From a private seller? The vehicle should have a manual... and it should be mentioned inside.

Going through the settings doesn't necessarily mean turning off the audio system to turn off the GPS.
If that's the case, it's really very stupid on Renault's part, but it still surprises me a lot!
I don't know if removing the SD card will solve the problem... but you can contact the dealer from whom you bought it to ask, they will surely know! -
I have a Clio 3 with integrated TomTom and a remote control. The GPS doesn't show up anymore if I disconnect the remote, and only the menu that's open remains. It's better than always seeing the car move forward anyway.
