Is there a solution for protected call harassment?

Hello,

I've had an issue for more than 8 months where I receive protected calls (I think it’s the same person). I answer, and there’s nothing, not a sound for 10 to 15 seconds, and then it hangs up.
I would like to know if there's a solution to unmask this little jerk.
What shocks me the most is that it doesn’t show up as private or unknown like three-quarters of the time, but as protected. Strange, right?
Thank you for your responses.

I may have a solution although I'm not sure if it will work since this is a protected call; don't you have the option to reject blocked calls in your settings?

Contact your landline provider and see if they can do anything about it. Also, talk to the police because it is indeed harassment (even though it's minor since there are no threats or insults).

Otherwise, change your number, but that's not pleasant.

Well yes, but it's still not normal to have to change your number because of people like that. I know my mother has had the same number for over 20 years, and she was bothered by a weird number that called 30-40 times a day for over 2 months. She called her operator, who told her they couldn't do anything, other than changing her number, which she never wanted to do. But she switched operators, and they blocked that number.

Indeed, it's not normal, but at the same time, with a landline, there's not much you can do against this kind of issue. Except as you said, change operator, but that's quite annoying. If this person has been harassing you for 8 months, it means they know you. Usually, others get bored quickly and switch to a different "victim."

Hello, no it's a landline and there's no way to reject or block calls on it.

Hello everyone, and thank you for your responses.
I've been with Neuf as my provider for 5 or 6 years, and I really don’t want to change my number.
To my knowledge, I don't have any enemies, or at least none that I'm aware of, and it's clear this situation is frustrating. I only have the option to change my number to have some peace of mind; it's really annoying.

      Hi

Just wanted to say that I'm aware of the problem. It happens to me occasionally... Of course, as soon as I realize it's happening again, I filter my calls, but the last time I almost went to see the police because it lasted exceptionally long: 3 or 4 weeks, with about 5 to 10 calls a day! But curiously, once I decided to take action, the calls stopped.

Little tip: also check your bills, sometimes it could be some sort of tax scam (I've heard that, but I've never verified it, that some scammers did this because as soon as you picked up, they made a few cents in their pocket). A few cents may not seem like much, but multiplied by the number of calls and victims, it adds up to a fortune.
