problem with need for speed most wanted Solved

Question

Hello, I have a problem with the game that I was given for Christmas. The installation goes very well, I start the game and everything is fine, but as soon as I play for 2 or 3 minutes, it lags a lot, and sometimes it's even unplayable and annoying, whether it's in 640*480, 800*600, 1024*768, or 1280*1024. I've really tried everything. I've installed all the latest drivers for my hardware and even installed the latest patch for the game, but the problem remains the same: the game lags a lot. I thought it might be my Logitech gamepad, so I also got the latest driver for it, and it's still the same.
So if someone could help me, it would be great.

P.S.

My OS is Windows XP Pro SP2.

Configuration:  AMD 64 3400+ Asus K8N-E Deluxe motherboard, 1500 MB PC3200 memory, Asus Gamer 6800 TD graphics card, 256MB GDDR3, 256 bits.

I thank you for your response, but I have already installed all the latest drivers released for my PC, whether for my motherboard, graphics card, sound chipset, etc...
But actually, the problem you referred me to doesn't concern me since I have no issues with the game videos, and the game launches immediately, but the lags only occur during the phases of the game itself, as soon as I accelerate with the cars or sometimes when there are a lot of details on the screen. Yet, I have disabled MSN, my antivirus, and my firewall, everything that could run in the background and could interfere, and even leaving my graphics card settings at default.

Bonjour, j'ai Need for Speed Most Wanted sur PS2 et à Noël j'ai eu la PS3, mais elle ne lit pas la carte mémoire PS2, donc toutes mes données sont perdues. J'ai essayé de télécharger des patchs pour les voitures, les vinyles, etc. de ma PS3 et ça ne fonctionne pas. Je ne trouve ni les dossiers de ma carte M2 de mon portable, ni les dossiers directement téléchargés de ma PS. Si quelqu'un pouvait m'aider, merci.

Hello, I have the same problem with NFS Most Wanted. I enter and I play for about 5 to 7 minutes and then it freezes and closes by itself, returning to the desktop. I don't have that problem like that, I have a problem with the brightness in the main menu, my BMW turns completely white and in the video options they tell me to adjust the brightness but I can't find where to adjust that problem, the brightness of the PC does not solve this problem. AAAAAIIIIIIDDDDDEEEEZZZZ----MMMMOOOOIIII.

I also had the same problem, the game crashed and returned to the desktop.

I set the compatibility options to "Windows 2000" and checked disable visual themes and strangely enough,
it stopped crashing oO

Don't ask me what visual themes have to do with the game xD

try to disable the auto-save, I did it and the game lasted more than two hours, but try to save yourself before that so you don't run in vain.

I changed the compatibility and now it doesn't work, it can't find my DVD,  it tells me to insert the appropriate DVD???  and when I remove the compatibility and set it back to normal (XP) it does the same thing as before, I play and after 5 minutes it cuts off and I go back to my desktop, I don't understand???  thank you in advance! Hi everyone.  For the games that close after 5 minutes and send you back to the desktop, it's generally because the processor is overheating. It's a safety measure put in place to prevent the processor from overheating and thus keep the motherboard alive. The solution? Overclock the CPU or try to ventilate the case better, play with the case open.

Hi, I found the solution without the backup thing or disabling the visual themes and texts. I confirm what spywook said about overclocking, but also overclocking alone is not enough with Need for Speed; you also need to update the PC's BIOS. I tried this on a friend's PC who couldn't play NFSMW for more than 5 minutes, and it worked—now the game doesn't crash anymore ;) Thanks and enjoy the game!

Hi, I found the solution. At the beginning, when you start the game, it tells you to create a new profile. You click on accept, then put your name, and then it says DO YOU WANT TO SAVE THE PROFILE "THE NAME YOU CHOSE AT THE BEGINNING"? Most people click yes, but NOOOOOON you need to click no. Once that's done, it tells you that auto-saving has been disabled. So there's no need to format your PC or uninstall the game. Just go to create a new profile and follow the steps I mentioned earlier, and that's it!! I hope I helped you because it worked for me.
