Good evening,
following the hard disk crash, I had to reinstall XP instead of Vista
in the device manager I still have the SM bus controller with the yellow exclamation point. I have searched on practically all the sites and found nothing.
motherboard: Packard Bell BV PB6M
chipset: north bridge Intel Cantiga PM45
Packard Bell Easynote SL-51 laptop
if you have a solution, it would really be nice to finally get through this crazy reinstallation.
thank you
Configuration: Windows XP / Internet Explorer 6.0

Good evening,
Go to the device manager, right-click on the device in question, properties, details, give the device instance ID.

Hi pico.l,
Indeed, I just checked and why a new topic when it's still a driver issue?
Moreover, no response from sisi since then!
See you, pico.l

Good evening,
yes, I created another thread to title my other driver issue.
Here is the reference:
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2930&SUBSYS_E2181631&REV_03\3&11583659&0&FB
Thank you for your valuable help. -
Download this --> driver, unzip it and install it manually:
Go to Device Manager
Right-click on the device in question
Update driver
Check: not this time
Install from a list or specified location
Do not search
Provided disk
Browse and select the unzipped folder
Restart and see what happens.

That's great, it worked!!! Thanks again
I have one device left with an exclamation point, mass storage controller, do you know what that means? Is it important?
I have installed the USB2 driver.
However, when I start the PC, Avast takes a long time to connect, as does the internet network via ethernet cable, do you have any idea where that might come from? -
