Hello everyone,
I have a problem with my PC. When I turn it on, the screen is black and I would like to recover all my files, especially some very important course materials. The issue is that I don't know anything about computers and I have no idea how to proceed.
Does anyone know how to do it? Can you help me solve my problem in very simple language?
Thank you in advance.
Nicky
Configuration: Linux / Firefox 3.5.9

Hello,
test the PC with a live Ubuntu CD, and try to recover your data

if it works with the live CD, you have a problem with Windows, or at worst with the hard drive
note that the live CD works with the PC's RAM, so no hard drive is needed.
Be careful not to install Ubuntu, but click on try Ubuntu.
if it's a screen problem, try with another screen.
