Hello,
I am urgently asking for your help, because yesterday the screen of my laptop failed, meaning it was already fragile, and when I opened it too roughly, the inside of the screen broke. The surface remained intact, but as soon as I tried to turn it on, black ink spots appeared inside my screen, along with colored lines. There's nothing to be done, my screen is definitely dead. However, since the cost of repair is too high, I would like to buy a new laptop, which will be an HP with Windows 8. My old computer was a Packard Bell running Windows 7. My question is, how can I recover the data from the hard drive of my broken-screen computer? I have very important things on it, and it is really essential that I retrieve my documents and everything that goes with it... That’s why I’m reaching out to you, hoping that a kind soul can provide me with assistance. I thank in advance those who have read my problem, and especially those who can guide me on the steps to take to recover my data. Thank you in advance.
Best regards.

Otherwise, you can simply put your hard drive in your desktop PC if there is an appropriate sized slot.
Otherwise, you would need to buy an adapter, either to connect it directly inside, or simply to read it via the new PC as an external hard drive (a technician offered me one for less than 30 euros once, but I think we could find cheaper).
The advantage is that if you put your old drive in the new PC, you'll gain memory without spending a whole day copying and pasting (but you're going to have to shell out some cash....)
