Retrieve my personal images from Windows Live.

Hello everyone,

A month ago, I unfortunately deleted some of my photos from my hard drive. I tried, without success, to recover them using various data recovery software.

Previously, I had used these photographs as personal images on Windows Live Messenger, and I was surprised to find that they were still present in my personal image gallery on the same software and that I could continue to use them even though I had deleted them from my hard drive.

Despite my limited knowledge of computers, I suppose these photographs are still on my computer since I can continue to use them as personal images on Windows Live Messenger.

But then, where are these images and how can I recover them? Where are the personal images stored in the Windows Live Messenger software?

Thank you in advance for shedding some light on this for me.

Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 3.6.12

    Good evening,

Personal images are located in the following folder:

    C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Messenger\your hotmail address\ObjectStore\UserTile

    See you later

    Thank you very much, Gaelle1.

Thanks to you, I was able to recover my precious photos. The size is indeed reduced, but the main thing is that they are not lost.

Once again, a big thank you.
