WoW: Unexpected Disconnection

Hello,
Since Wednesday evening, I've been experiencing major issues with frequent disconnections on World of Warcraft.
Usually, I have a very poor connection (between 700 and 2000 latency generally) with occasional connections only, but now it's the opposite: very low latency (between 100 and 500 ms!) and disconnections every 15 seconds to 5 minutes.
What could cause this, how can I see it, and how can I resolve it?
Thanks in advance for the answers ^^

Configuration: Windows Vista / Firefox 3.6.12

It could be due to the new launcher downloading content while you play, or a flaky Wi-Fi connection could also cause it, or maybe your internet connection is being too heavily used, like when running Emule+Vuze, etc., which consume too much of your bandwidth, but I'm leaning more towards the launcher.

It's true that since Wednesday when I launch the launcher, I sometimes get "non-critical updates in progress" (it's happened at least 15 times). Yet I always wait for the update to finish before launching the game.
If that's indeed where the problem comes from, how can I fix it?
