Hello,
I bought a desktop PC last year with Windows 7 at Fnac and paid extra for home installation. The advisor installed it for me, and now I would like to know what my activation key is because I looked on the side of my PC and saw the code, but I want to know if it corresponds to my PC. Is the CD key the same as the product key? How can I find it from the PC?

on assembled PCs or branded PCs, the label stuck on the case corresponds to the installed system.

False, on branded PCs, a generic installation with an OEM manufacturer key is done in series. The sticker on the PC corresponds to a valid license assigned to that PC. This key is not pre-installed but intended for this PC. It can be used for a reinstallation from an original CD and then activated.
