Convert .tmp file to .avi?

Good evening,
I would like to find free software to convert video files (Megavideo) retrieved from the Temp folder of Mozilla into .avi files.
There's no need to tell me to just rename the extension; it doesn't work because I can only play them with VLC or Real Player. I'm looking to convert them to AVI because I want to use the file in Adobe Premiere Pro and then burn them to a DVD or VCD.

Nothing could be simpler than that. However, check that tmp is a video file using the internet, then download the software called Format Factory. It works wonderfully and converts all video files to MP4 or AVI (and many others as well).
