Green dots on plasma 127

Question

Hello,

I just discovered this tonight:

I have a Samsung plasma TV that is 127cm and I've had it for two weeks. On the upper right side, I can see, when the screen is black, some tiny green dots as well as a small black dot.

Once an image comes back, I don't see anything, but everything returns once there's a black image.

I think these are pixels, but is it serious? Is the TV defective or should I not worry?

I really wonder what to think knowing that the TV is brand new.

Bonjour, toutes les personnes croient que cela n'arrive pas aux plasma, c'est faux, mais c'est moins fréquent qu'au LCD. C'est garanti, il faut changer selon les normes du constructeur, mais dans environ deux semaines, voir en magasin de vente, cela peut s'arrêter là ou demain encore deux ou un, etc.

Should I request an exchange due to a defect or can I leave it as it is? But will it risk deteriorating?

Good evening...

Take a close look at your warranty: the acceptable number of dead pixels should be specified, and maybe even their location: 4 dead pixels side by side are more bothersome than 10 scattered across the whole screen...
Ask customer service, they know if it falls under warranty or not, but double-check anyway...they might try to "muddy the waters"!

I bought it on credit at Unigro, it's kind of like the 3 Suisses, how does it work there?

Actually, there are small dots that appear and disappear when the image is black.

No way to fix that? Is it likely to deteriorate?

Good evening your television is new, return to the store for an exchange, and I repeat once again it's a Samsung and on top of that a plasma (as my buddy Pedro would say "it's worth nothing")

If these are dead pixels, they are dead... sometimes they are just off, I've read that they can sometimes be fixed with software on PCs, on TVs, I don't know...
I also don't know if the phenomenon could spread or not, nor if the panel is considered defective or not... be careful what the customer service will tell you, especially like "La Redoute"...!
On a 127 cm, the number below which they will tell you it's normal will be higher than on a 92 cm TV.....

So basically, do I have to wait until the defect is always visible? Because right now I'm on a black image and the defect disappears after a few seconds.

Personally, I would wait a bit (I assume it's guaranteed for at least a year) to see if it evolves and to be able to describe the issue exactly to customer service...
Unless it's been less than 8 days, in which case they have to replace it for you...

re Unigro is in Switzerland (am I wrong??) maybe the customer service in Switzerland is more efficient than customer service in France.

Unigro is in Belgium, but I have never had a problem with them so I don't know how their customer service works.

It is guaranteed for two years.

But I would like to know, are they really dead since they appear and disappear so quickly? But it's true that on a black background, you can see there are more than ten small green and yellow dots scattered all over the right side.

I think only Fnac guarantees 0 dead pixels. I just exchanged my Philips three times for DEAD PIXELS.

I'm sending you a test pattern, put it on a USB and pause the image, then try to erase it with paper and water. The panel is made of small tiles, which to the naked eye may seem unbelievable, but a dust particle or especially a droplet retracts into this square because of the electricity in the panel, and we really believe it's a dead pixel. I'm giving updates regarding my pixel issue:

I just contacted Unigro's customer service, and I will receive a visit from technicians who will either repair it or replace it, and if there is a wait time, I will get a replacement television.

But I was wondering:

Do you think that if I get a new one, the problem won't happen again? Is Samsung a good brand for a plasma? Unfortunately, I no longer have the option to switch brands.

Another note: I play video games on it, but honestly not very much and with very few games that leave a mark for a long time.

Hello, Samsung's first plasma or LCD screens are crap but they look nice. Second, 2 or 3 brands make panels, so almost all brands have the same panel, and many have this issue. I had 3 exchanges in 1 month for this problem. Try looking behind; you might see the brand. You were unlucky because plasma has very few dead pixels. My advice is to run the screen for at least 20 hours, and it's during this time that if there's a defect in the panel, the pixels will appear. Video games at your own risk, don't listen to people who say that screens and consoles have safety measures; it's true, but not enough. In the worst case, you could have a big color stain on half of the screen.

I'll see when the technicians come. But regarding video games, I had a plasma before and for more than a year I played almost all the time on it, and I never had the slightest problem, so personally, the pixel issue can't come from the video games.  What I might face is a persistence issue, but personally it doesn't bother me, I had it on my old plasma and it wasn't annoying.

I've also seen on some sites that they say you need to break in the plasma by leaving it on for long hours on a full screen. Is that true?  Honestly, with everything that's said about plasma, I'm lost; it's 50-50 and I don't really know what to do for my plasma.
