When I press the numeric keys, the numbers are not entered, and moreover, the cells change places.
Could you provide us with a bit more detail about the context, particularly whether this happens all the time and everywhere or only in certain specific situations?
Let's say your "problem" occurs with Excel (and Excel only), it could be because you have switched to "Scroll" mode while having unlocked the numeric keypad (in other words, the two combinations "Control-F14" and "Shift-Lock" (the key for numeric lock being the one above the "7," with a screen crossed out with a cross).
If it’s in Windows via Parallels Desktop or something similar, the answer will be more or less the same. But if your problem occurs in other circumstances, obviously, it’s more difficult to give you feedback like that...

Hello to you!
Bernard
Thank you Bernard,
I am on a MacBook Pro with a separate numeric keyboard - Apple with a wire.
I solved the problem of moving cells by using "Control-F14" but the issue regarding the number keys on my separate keyboard remains. No. In Excel (and only in Excel), when I press the number keys, the cell moves in directions I do not understand.

At the right time! At least we know it's definitely happening in Excel and that it's on the right track to being resolved! ;)

What should we understand by "directions I don't understand"?
Your keyboard is indeed the aluminum flat keyboard with cable, right? You did spot the "Num Lock" key, the one with a rectangle crossed out with a line just above the "7" key on the numeric keypad? And does combining this key with the "Shift" key not change the operation (and not turn on the little "NUM" indicator in the taskbar at the bottom of the Excel window in blue - or green depending on the version)?

Hello,
I would like to remind you that my keyboard is indeed the flat wired aluminum keyboard.
There is no "Num Lock" key nor the one with a rectangle crossed out above the "7" key on the numeric keypad of the flat wired aluminum keyboard.
Above the "7" key, there is the F6 key and the F7 key.
Therefore, I cannot perform the combination with the "Shift" key.
I still can't use my numeric keypad on the separate keyboard.
Thank you for saving my life.

My Apple keyboard, the latest model with a cable.
Another point: which keyboard have you chosen in System Preferences -> International -> Input Menu: French or French Numeric or ... ?
