Prevent ignition when the hood is opened.

Question

Hello,

I have a TOSHIBA laptop. Unfortunately, the two plastic feet that keep the lid closed are broken. So when it's in sleep mode with the lid (almost) closed, it wakes up as soon as I touch it.

Is there a way to set the 'do nothing' action for opening the lid???
(the option exists for closing)

Hello, I have exactly the same problem. I installed Windows 8 on a Satellite C670 and every time I open the laptop lid, the computer turns on by itself. How can I stop this?

no.
the best thing you can do now is to set "do nothing" on close instead of "sleep" and "sleep" on pressing the power button. it's up to you to do it but it will prevent it from turning on when it's closed.

Unfortunately, that's exactly the setup I have! If I close the lid, it doesn't go to sleep. I only put the PC to sleep using the button, but still it wakes up with the lid!  ++

A TOSHIBA Satellite P200. A good machine, just these plastic clips that haven't held up. And I don't know how to replace them.

Hello, I have fixed this issue.
I would like to point out that I did this on Windows 10.

Go to:
Control panel\Hardware and sound\Power options\System settings
Or
From Power options, choose the option on the left: "Choose what closing the lid does"

Do:
Uncheck "Enable fast startup (recommended)"
