Tekken 2: The Movie

Good evening, hello everyone.

I just saw the movie Tekken right now, and I wanted to know if there will be a sequel. Because at the end of the movie, everything suggests a sequel. And the characters that were supposed to appear in the film are not (King played by Dave Batista, Lei Wulong played by Jackie Chan, etc.). So, will there be a sequel or not??

Thank you in advance.

In my opinion, yes, there will definitely be a sequel. As you can see, they haven't included all the characters from the game, so since Heihachi isn't dead, he will return along with other famous characters from the fighting game.

look after the credits in the party heihachi doesn't die so in my opinion he's going to try to take back tekken

      Well seen, Kazuya =)
xieosf--> Well, you see the scene where a jackhammer is going to kill Heihachi and Heihachi says: "I am Heihachi Mishima, I am the soul of Tekken, you will obey me" and the jackhammer lowers its weapon.

The story of the movie is more or less well told, but it's quite possible that there is a sequel. Unless the movie is a huge success, they wouldn't make a film for a Tekken ^^

Well, I would have done it, it would have been too cool! Like Star Wars!

I like this movie, except that there are so many overlooked details like the mispronunciation of names such as Kazuya = Kayuza or Heihachi = Heichachi, or what about the mutual hatred between Nina and Anna???? And the choice of actors is poorly made for some, like Steve Fox for example. After that, the story is pretty decent even if it’s not entirely coherent with that of the game. But I am in favor of a potential sequel, although they should fix the mistakes or ensure that they develop their story. And yes, I would really love to see in a future possible film a fight between Devil and Devil Jin (provided the special effects are of good quality) :-)

I picked up the same details as you, and then Christie is supposed to practice capoeira, but here she mainly fights with her legs, okay, but not many "dancing" moves like Eddie Gordo... And for a possible sequel, which wouldn't be so easy to come up with, they could explain how Heihachi got out of it, the existence of Devil Jin, and the eternal rivalry with Hwoarang, and then they could hold another Iron Fist Tournament with the arrival of King and Marduk maybe :p

I say there will be a total of 6 Tekken movies since if what I think is right, it comes from the film and I've seen all the Tekken trailers, and there should normally be 6 Tekken movies.

I really hope there will be a sequel, and I think there will be because at the end they say it’s just beginning... In any case, they chose the actor for Jin very well!!!

I also think there will be a sequel because the first one is really good, I liked it a lot, and the scenes are exciting. As for a Tekken series, I don't think so; it would be way too long if they made it as long as the games. Well, we'll see later hoping that this film comes out.

I admit it’s actually quite good overall! You can see that the stunts are a bit strange, but they’re really well done. As for the costume, Jin kept the same colors and the gloves throughout the film. But wasn’t Christie supposed to have a slightly darker skin tone?

I agree with you, plus he compares the movie to the game, he needs to stop being stuck on the game. A movie will never be like a video game or anything else, take Dragon Ball as an example.

No, but the movie does illustrate the game quite well. We can say it packs Tekken 1, 2, and Tag into one, and then in 4, it's Kazuya who goes into the volcano; we'll see! ^^

The only movie that truly adapts a video game is Hitman
I'm disappointed that I didn't see King in this movie.

Uh, Hitman? Personally, I didn't find any resemblance to the game; it's a Hollywood movie, shooting everywhere while the goal of the game is to be discreet.
As for TEKKEN, it's for sure that you can't introduce all the characters at once; just imagine the mess, and especially they didn't know if the movie would work. The last film based on a video game I saw was Dragon Ball, and you have to wonder if the director has ever read the manga or played the game. Here we have a storyline that more or less holds up, actors doing their job well, and the reviews of the movie are rather good, so there's a strong chance we'll get a second Tekken with a little Devil Jin and just for fun, a Gon ^^ and the Tekken Ball matches ;)

too short, too few characters, and Yoshimitsu can't lose like in the movie; there are too many techniques missing and where are the devil modes?

I love this story in particular, the one where Jin becomes the evil that consumes him; its mysteries are touching, I think.

I didn't see the end of the credits, what happens?

And is it true that Heihachi is tough? He should have died many times in the game, so in the movie it must be the same, and in my opinion, there will be a sequel because at the end we hear Jun's voice (Jin's mother). What many people don't know is that the real legend of Tekken has just begun.

Heihachi doesn't die and makes the jackhammer obey in the scene where Kazuya thinks he has killed him. We can conclude that as he implied by saying "I have 2 heirs," he asked the jack to obey Jin when they raise their weapons. ^^

Hello everyone, I also know the music from the beginning (when Jin escapes from his pursuers) it's

sick puppies - you're going down

as for the movie, we shouldn't compare it totally to the game
it takes characters, that's okay, it takes the basis of the story from the games, that's okay
it can't retell exactly the same story (what interest would that have)
and look at the Resident Evil movies, they are really inspired by the games but don’t resemble them at all and yet the success is undeniable, movies are movies and games are games, that's it and this film isn't that bad despite its flaws (like Jun Kazama being killed by the Mishima family and not by Ogre in the game) :-)

    1. Bryan

Yes, that's exactly it. Ogre was supposed to kill Baek Doo San too, Hwoarang's Taekwondo master ;) But if we included all the characters, either the cast would be too expensive, or the actors would be terrible and cost less ^^

The only characters that reminded me of the Tekken games were:

    - Bryan Fury (very well represented, even though he is uncontrollable, I find him rather docile)
    - Raven (nothing to say, it's him ^^)
    - Eddy (the legendary yellow/green pants)
    - Dragunov (a Russian, no doubt about it)

The characters that would make a good impact in a future installment:

    - Gun Jack / Jack 5
    - Armor King / King
    - Hwoarang
    - Lei
    - and why not Ogre / True Ogre (Tekken 3 PS1 game)

Looking forward to the next installment, but please change Jin's character ... He seemed too childish, undisciplined, less muscular and where are the tattoos? oO

More fights too, 3/4 of the time it's just talking, this is Tekken!

    Long live Yoshimitsu! ^^

No, the movie is very well made! Jon Foo acts very well, who did you want? Jet Li?

And as muscled as Jin Kazama is in the game, it's exaggerated! You don't move that much ^^

don't expect devil jin because the film is more realistic and putting a demon would turn it into science fiction ^^

ps: I was disappointed with marshal law (bruce lee) who doesn’t resemble the game at all

I was a bit disappointed with the movie; there were some fights that were too short, a lot of changes to the story, not very combative characters, and all of this doesn't resemble the game Tekken.

It's Cung Le and in reality, he's a MMA fighter. He must have been a bit scared of Jon Foo ;D But Cung's hooks are somewhat lacking when he tells Jin: "You, I'm going to teach you respect!"

However, it's true that the French messed up the Kazuya VF, calling him Kazuya, personally I think it's hilarious. Plus, Jin's outfit, his pants are black with red flames, not blue -_- and his tattoo is way bigger than that in the games.

There will be no sequel, the film was a commercial failure (I believe it has a ratio of $20 in budget for $1 recovered, a real money pit) and it was disowned by the original creator of the series, so nothing suggests that studios would want to invest money in it again.

Good evening, seriously guys, learn to write that would be cool ;) just for info, I'm 15 and I'm trying to be at least understandable on the forums out of respect for those who read behind us.

The movie is nice seriously but when I see people criticizing the movie by comparing it to the game, I feel sorry for them, let me explain: Do you think the characters don't look alike?

    - Of course, don't compare a real human being with video game characters guys!
    - And if you're not happy, go make the movie yourself if you don't like it! No respect for those who took the time to create it so we can watch it peacefully on our little couch.

Also, I think there will be a sequel with other iconic characters from the game, it’s bound to happen. ;)

Come on people, see you later!

And above all, thanks to the spell checker, but it's okay, we don't hold it against you.
As for the similarities, I mostly agree with you; it's almost impossible to find actors who resemble video game characters, but the screenwriters could have made an effort on the background story.
As for a sequel, I don't think so; before finding it online, I hadn't heard about it at all, which means the film didn't have the expected success, so money pit, so no sequel... QED
