2 versions at the same time by default

Hello,

I currently have the trial version of Office 2010 Pro, but unfortunately I know that at the end of the trial, I won't be able to purchase the license because it's way too expensive for me. However, I thought that maybe I could buy Office 2010 Home and Student and install it alongside Office 2007, which I already own. This way I could still use Publisher and Outlook with 2007 and have the latest version of Word and Excel with 2010. But is this possible? I called Microsoft support, and they told me no. Then, since I have it, I reinstalled Office 2007 without any problems or messages telling me to first remove the already installed version of 2010. I can use either one without any issues. My question to you is: does this work because 2010 Pro is a trial version? Once uninstalled and after installing the purchased 2010 Home and Student version, which is not a trial, will it also work?
Can anyone enlighten me on this?
Thanks in advance (I have Windows XP Pro, but I'm thinking of switching to Windows 7, so the same question applies to Windows 7)

Configuration: Windows XP / Internet Explorer 7.0

Yes, it works fine, it's Microsoft which, as usual, pushes for consumption. It's not an OS, just a program, you can perfectly have both in parallel...

    Good luck

Thank you very much, it reassures me because it's true that Microsoft is a bit greedy about software and not everyone can afford it. I will go for the first version more within my budget.

    Have a good day.

    Hello,

Indeed, you can have multiple versions of Office on your computer... Sometimes it gets a bit mixed up, but overall it works well (I personally have 3 versions). It's just Outlook that you can't have in duplicate.

In case you are a student, it's always good to remind you that Microsoft sells the full version of Office 2010 to students for €69.

Thank you for this new confirmation and for the info, but it's been a long time since I was a student.

    Have a good day.
