what is the procedure to open the BIOS without the hard drive installed or the system?

Well, after checking, it seems that it’s the F2 key.
However, don’t forget:
- that some keyboards have shortcut or function keys
- that USB support in the BIOS doesn’t always work
So, you’ll need to make sure that the F2 key corresponds only to F2, and be wary of the small "f", "fn" or "F lock" that activates shortcuts on some keyboards
Preferably opt for a standard keyboard (so avoid USB) to ensure that the BIOS doesn’t reject it on startup.
