access BIOS on emachines E510 Solved

Question

Hello,
I want to format my PC with Vista as the OS. I want to install Vista on it. To do this, I need to set my DVD drive as boot 1 in the BIOS, but I can't access it. Is there a way to get there??
When I reach the startup screen, it tells me to press F2 to access the BIOS but I can't get in...
Do you have a solution?

P.S.: When I press that key, I end up in the Windows task manager...

Hi. There are different keys to access the Setup (BIOS): F2, F8, Dell (Delete)... Otherwise, start your PC, go to your session, and insert the Windows Vista CD, and it will boot from Windows, allowing you to install Vista (you should have chosen Windows 7 (I'm not advertising!!!)).

No, but there could be a password (either you’re not pressing it at the right time or not enough; try pressing the key multiple times until something happens in the BIOS or Manager). Is it a laptop or a desktop? If it’s a desktop, disassemble it and on the motherboard, there’s a battery; remove it for 30 seconds, then put it back, and it should work. If it doesn’t, ask the manufacturer if there's a password (the technique is the same for a laptop).

You need to wait for the startup screen, and it will tell you which key to press (it's the one preceded by Setup).
