Num lock and caps lock blink

Hello,

since this evening, the Caps Lock and Num Lock indicators keep flashing (4 times per sequence). My computer is an HP Pavilion DV-7 (Windows Vista). It's not a real problem since I can still use it, but I would like to fix it.
Looking online, some say that it's the graphics card or the motherboard that is dead. I would like to know if there's a way to fix this myself to avoid having to pay a lot to get it repaired.

    If your motherboard or graphics card is faulty, the computer won't start; it's another issue.

    Try unplugging and plugging your keyboard back in, otherwise I really don't know... This has never happened to me... What brand is your keyboard?

      death_riser, you can correct your mistakes by editing the message rather than creating another one!!

      Otherwise, it could also be a stuck or dead key (like it stays pressed)

      Try activating the sound keyboard and see if ALL the keys make a "beep" when pressed.

    I just got back from a party.. and to my great surprise, nothing is blinking anymore, everything seems to be working perfectly. I don't understand anything anymore..

      Hello,
      If the problem persists, I recommend installing a good antivirus and running a full scan.
      Indeed, I recall that back in the days when I used to 'hack' my friends just for fun, there was a worm controlled by a program (Optix Pro) that made their LEDs blink (forcing the person to type in both uppercase and lowercase...). We could also open and close the CD drive, make the speakers beep, swap the left and right mouse clicks... etc.
      In any case, a little scan won't hurt.
