Clatronic BZ 3233 Beer Dispenser

Hello,

I just acquired a Clatronic beer dispenser with the reference bz 3233, but I have a problem when starting the machine. I took a 5L keg of Heineken, removed the top seal, and installed the provided rod and gasket. I inserted the CO2 cartridge, but nothing happens. However, I haven't pierced the keg as stated in the manual to create an air vent. Is that the solution to the problem? I prefer to ask before I throw away my keg. Thank you for your responses.
