Hello!
I bought and connected the JBL Creature speakers to my PC
everything seems fine, the lights are on, but the sound only comes from the small speaker with the volume controls -
why does the other small speaker not produce any sound??
Thank you
Configuration: windows XP Profess.

V I C T O R Y!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Eureka, I found it!!!!!!!!!
After ordering, then returning twice, the third one arrives with the same issue: 2 speakers lit up out of 3 with inaudible sound!!

And then I tell myself it must be me!! I noticed a square and a triangle for the small speakers (connector: brown and orange)

POSITION THEM STRAIGHT THEN SCREW INSIDE TO ESTABLISH CONTACT!!!!!!!!!! Don't be afraid to force it!! And there you go

Perfect, the sound is great!! I was persistent but I found it!!

Thank you very much, I also had the same problem when reconnecting my Creature II after years in the box. Sometimes you just have to be a bit forceful ^^

To avoid mistakes, one of the plugs has a SQUARE pin and the other a TRIANGULAR one. This way, you can fully insert them.

If you don't insert the plugs into the intended shape, it won't work. And it won't turn on either since there is no contact.

It's like a baby game, putting the triangle in the triangle and the square in the square.
And ohhh miracle, it lights up and works.

A big thank you to princessaphir. Nothing screws onto mine, but it allowed me to take a closer look.

If it can help someone: BE CAREFUL NOT TO SWITCH THE JACK SOCKET AND SPEAKER WHEN CONNECTING; The two jacks look similar and both plugs fit into them, it took me two days to realize that the connection was wrong. This will save you from questioning your sound card, driver issues, or device management for nothing. I hope to help those who make the same mistake as I did. If that's the case, please speak up to help others. Thank you.

So, we need to check if the jack plug is making good contact with its socket. Sometimes, wiggling it can help.
Otherwise, the sound card needs to be updated.
That's all I see...

So you're only hearing on one channel? Did you push the jack in properly? Often it doesn't fit well, so push it a bit more, there's still a notch that hasn't gone in. And at the same time, also check if the jack plug connecting the two speakers is properly connected.

Everything has been checked again - all the plugs are properly connected -
everything is correctly plugged in -
there’s a recommendation to update the sound card, how do we do that?
and what is the relation?
On another note, I moved the HT a bit, but it didn't help - if there's a loose connection, it's well hidden!
Thanks in advance - Edith

Hello.
I would like to join your discussion. I also have a problem with my speakers, but a bit different from yours. So here it is, my controls do not allow me to raise or lower the volume. However, they work because when I press both at the same time, it does mute the sound. Who can help me?

Hello
I apologize for bothering you, but I have a quick question!
I have lost my transformer and I would like to buy a new one, but I no longer have the reference.
Could you please tell me what is written on the label of the transformer or send me a photo??
Thank you in advance.

Hi!
Check that you have properly plugged the jack into your audio output.
Also check your sound settings in the control panel, in case your balance is turned all the way to one side.

Hello!
Yes, everything is well connected, the jack plug is fine - the settings are good!
But no!
I went to FNAC with this product, they tested it and it works for them!
So?
See you later.

Hi Edith,

Before connecting this JBL, did you already have sound on your computer? Is the jack plug in the right place? Because it’s certain that if it's in the IN instead of OUT, or in the mic port, there will never be any sound.

Make sure to check all that before, and we’ll see what’s next.

Hang in there.

No, it has sound on only one channel (one speaker) and since the jack is stereo, there may be a bad connection.

re,

I think your solution is close, but you need to pay attention.

To know which update file to download, check this link, get the software, and install it. On the other hand, if you know your motherboard and the audio that comes with it, there's no need to click the link, just go directly to the internet.

http://www.zdnet.fr/telecharger/windows/fiche/0,39021313,11010938s,00.htm

If the link doesn't open, copy and paste it.

Good luck.

Hi, I have the same problem as you with my JBL Creature speakers. There's no sound from the second small speaker. How did you manage to fix it? Is it the result of an incompatibility between Windows Media Player and another player I downloaded?
Thank you for helping me...

Hi everyone...

I just got some JBL Creature 2 speakers. I have a problem with the speaker, it turns on but there's no sound coming out. When I connect it to the iPod, it's the same. I've tried the connection and even putting the balance completely to the left, nothing happens when I plug in the speakers. However, everything works fine without the JBL speakers. What should I do?????

I had the same problem and I solved it by reading this forum and looking behind the subwoofer: in fact, the jack for the left speaker (the brown one) is triangular at its end and the one for the right speaker (the orange one) is square. So make sure to plug the jacks all the way in, respecting their shape. And it works!!!

Hello, I could no longer increase or decrease the volume. The solution: connect the speakers to an iPod and try to increase the volume using the + on the small speaker. If it works, reconnect to the PC. It worked for me ;-)
For the speaker that is off, disconnect everything and reconnect it correctly and firmly by color, but REMOVE THE POWER CORD!!!! Once the connection of the speakers and the subwoofer is done, then reconnect the power cable and press the round black power button (make sure it was turned off before).
There you go!

Hi everyone!! So I just bought these speakers in America, the only problem is that I won't have the power cable and the cable that connects the subwoofer to the computer!! Do these cables easily found and could you give me the references like the transformer or others??
Thank you very much
