Photoshop CS5 Installation Issue

Solved

Hello, yesterday I bought the very latest Photoshop CS5 online after trying the CS4 trial version, which worked very well until I uninstalled CS4, which had frozen since my 30-day trial had expired. Now when I try to reinstall CS5, it won't start, whether I use my activation code or the trial version. An alert message tells me: "You cannot open the Adobe CS5 application because it may be damaged or incomplete." So, I would like to resolve this issue as soon as possible because I need it soon.

Thank you all for your replies.. ,

Configuration: Mac OS X / Safari 531.22.7

    Good evening PopKorn88,

I have exactly the same problem as you... Could you tell me which "remaining" part of CS5 was causing issues? I've tried everything in vain for the past 5 days...

    Hello,

Have you completely and properly uninstalled CS4 and 5?
    If so, reinstall CS5.
    That should do the trick.

    Have a nice day.

Yes, I uninstalled everything correctly, normally... I'm on a Mac and I would like to perform a system restore like on Windows, but I can't find how to do it, it would be much simpler :/
I have the impression that I erased something necessary for CS5 by uninstalling CS4...

I don't know MAC at all, but I found this:
    https://forums.macg.co/install/index.php?upgrade/

I don't know if this will help you, but I hope so.

I saw this forum earlier, it could have helped me if I had made a backup of my system just before, if only I had known :( ... it's a big flaw for Mac not to have a system restore as simple as on Windows.

Anyway, thank you for going out of your way for me, I will try to re-download the trial version of CS4 and that of CS5 by reinstalling each in turn, I hope it will work, otherwise I don’t know what to do anymore... Restore my Mac entirely but I really wouldn't like to have to put everything back on it!!

Otherwise, make a backup on an external hard drive and reset your MAC.
Unfortunately, I don't know enough about MAC to help you.

Good luck for the rest ;-)

Actually, it's fine, I removed a leftover from CS5 that was in a folder and it works again
      Thank you very much ;)

      Hello,
I have the same issue, which leftover from CS5 did you delete?
      Thank you.

I downloaded Photoshop CS5 in 3 files, one of 0.97 gigabytes, the other of 1.17 megabytes, and the last one is 502 kilobytes.
After that, when I click on the second file, there is an error.
It says that part of the Photoshop CS5 archive is missing, and when I try to decompress the first file,
it starts and then stops, there are also errors.

    Bye

    Thank you.
